Selling Abortions To Women Who Want Their Babies

This is a photo of the “pro-choice” movement. Yesterday, at one of the busiest abortion centers in the Southeast, I was calling out to a couple who seemed conflicted about killing their baby. I told them that if that was the case, arming themselves with information and truth was a good way to guide wise choices. So I began telling them the truth of the little precious life growing within the woman’s womb. The heart is beating as early as 17 days. By six weeks, the baby has detectable brainwaves. By eight weeks all organs are in place and unique fingerprints developing. As I began to list all the resources our prolife ministry, Cities4life, has access to that can help them choose life, the “pro-choice” escorts crowded around them to shield them.

How noble....as long as no one considers the baby who has no voice, no choice, that was going to die if these people were not given the vision and encouragement to let her live.

Earlier in the day, a car on the way into the abortion center stopped. The driver listened as I began to share our resources, and began to tell her about the baby in her womb. The woman was clearly conflicted as she looked at the photograph of the baby at the same gestational age as the one she carried. Her eyes glistened. At that moment, the “pro-choice” woman told her to drive on, we were not with the clinic, and we would not stop talking unless she kept driving. The woman’s hesitation had been apparent as she gazed at the booklet I’d given her with the visual truth of what she was about to destroy. She clutched the booklet but now drove in to the parking lot, emboldened again to kill her child.

The “pro-choice” lady smiled, listening to music through ear buds.

Later, a woman came out of the clinic and went towards her car. I called out, offering help no matter what had happened in there. The woman veered across the grass to me.
“I just want you to know I just came for an ultrasound. I want my baby!”
“We do ultrasounds for free,” I told her.
“They didn’t tell me that. I just spent $85.”

She would have heard us offer that if the “pro-choice” escorts had not tried so hard to block our voices and pleas and offers.

“Did they give you a picture of your baby?”
“No.”
We spoke a while, finding out her situation and offering help through our network of ministries.
Then I asked her, “When you were in there getting your ultrasound, did you tell them you wanted your baby?”
“Yes. I told them when I made the appointment I only wanted an ultrasound.”
“After your ultrasound, did they try to talk you into an abortion?”
She nodded. “I could not believe it. All those women in there who would do that...God have mercy. I told them I wanted my baby but they said I could have the abortion and they were happy to set that up!”
I wanted to be clear I had heard correctly.
“They knew you wanted your baby, but they tried to talk you into an abortion?”
“That’s right.”

THAT is what the “pro-choice” movement supports. A profit making business actively seeking and working to turn mothers’ hearts from their children so they will kill their own unborn babies.

Praise God three women chose life yesterday. One woman, who pulled out of the clinic lot and told one of our volunteers she had changed her mind, then moved to the side of the road to talk with me. I offered her all our resources, including the Love life Charlotte mentorship program to help her spiritually, emotionally, and tangibly. The woman was very grateful.

She told me she left the abortion center because “I had no real reason to abort. I know I am going to hell. Especially if I had done that.”

This was a beautiful opening to share the Gospel. Which I did. The woman recognized that she had violated over and over again the law of God and that justice required there be a penalty for those transgressions. The Bible says all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and the penalty for sin is death, eternal separation from God. Hell.

Then, in her understanding of how far she had wandered from God, she was able and willing to hear God’s remedy, the good news that Jesus offers to all: While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us to pay the penalty for sin that we owed.  The convicted woman prayed to commit her life to Jesus right then and there on the sidewalk of one of the darkest places on earth. That is what real choice can do.

“Where do you think you are going NOW, if you should die?” I asked.
She smiled broadly, “I am going to heaven.”
Amen.

Now that is a choice worth offering.

Joshua 24:15

And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
