Oh! Wait! Three wonderful events! I bought superglue and fixed my yard angel's broken arm. One of the recent storms broke her arm off, the one holding a little bird. I love my little angel and was very sad about this. But yesterday, I crouched in the garden, by my angel with the broken arm and superglued it back in place. I kneeled there with my angel, and prayed the fix would hold. The arm stayed on when I let go, the bond now strong and secure. I don't think it will fall off again. The little bird in her hand is safe.
The broken angel has much in common with the new mama "A" ...and with me. Some of the mothers who choose life after almost aborting their child return at a later date to go through with the abortion. After first deciding to keep the baby, they return home to the same awful circumstances, unsupportive home, or selfish desires that prompted them to consider aborting in the first place. We sidewalk counselors are encouraged to stay in touch with the "saves," and to offer support, the truth and hope of the Gospel, and resources as needed to help solidify the decision for life. God is working in their hearts, and we are in the wings ready to be His hands and feet as needs arise. Those mothers are broken just like all of humanity is broken. Just like I am broken, and if you are honest with yourself, just like you are too. But there is healing, there is salvation, there is hope...we can all be fixed. The moment we turn from our selfish, prideful ways and trust to follow God, the healing begins. And the power of Jesus is far stronger than superglue.
I glanced out later that evening at my angel's arm. Still securely attached and still holding tightly to the tiny bird!

Praying for this mama, Vicky! Also,my clay fetus you lovingly handcrafted was dropped accidentally by one of my clients and his/her head crumbled to bits. I still use it but it is sort of grotesque in this form. I'll be home for the wedding. Could I pay you for a new one, or make a contribution to some of your clay?
