Following Where He Leads

I wrote 5,000 more words on my sequel. I spent most of the day writing. In between the hours of writing, I prepared for my upcoming kayak adventure. I added to my packing pile of things for my trip with my sister to Chincoteague to kayak with the wild ponies in just 9 days. In a jumbled pile on my desk, I have kayak paddle, life jacket, dry bag, bandages, binoculars, waterproof pancho, wet suit, kayak apron, umbrella hats for each of us, camera dry bag, goose call, boat horn....I sent the list to sister Amy. She reminded me : "Don't forget the rowing slave." She is worried that she will not be able to move after her two days with me kayaking to the wild ponies. I told her I could pack a wheelchair too, but she said forget it, unless it was motorized.

I am beyond excited. Especially since quite frankly, this has been a very stressful past few months. I really cannot wait to leave all the stress in my wake, and focus on communing with nature and my very funny sister.

I am working my way (slowly) though Isaiah. I love the book of Isaiah. It is my favorite old testament book, in fact. It is so filled with wonderful prophecy of the Messiah, and also of reminders that God is with us! I have just hit Isaiah 63, where it talks about how God gave His people his Holy Spirit to guide them, divided the water to set a path before them, led them through the desert, and them gave them rest...to make a glorious name for Himself. That gave me pause. Our victorious following of God brings glory to His name! When we follow where He leads, His name is glorified. Think about that. And dwell on this part -- He also leads us to a place of rest. His name is glorified where He leads, and He leads us to REST.

Chincoteague: here I come.

Isaiah 63: 12-14
Where is he who put in the midst of them
his Holy Spirit,
12 who caused his glorious arm
to go at the right hand of Moses,
who divided the waters before them
to make for himself an everlasting name,
13 who led them through the depths?
Like a horse in the desert,
they did not stumble.
14 Like livestock that go down into the valley,
the Spirit of the Lord gave them rest.
So you led your people,
to make for yourself a glorious name.
