For Now We See Dimly

Today we celebrate the baptism of a young lady who chose life over abortion, as well as Jesus to rule her life. I spent the day with her yesterday. She has many hurdles and struggles that remain.

However, she told me yesterday that her life if changing, and she is stronger. I asked what made her stronger
"When I stood up to those who were hurting me."
"What gave you the ability to do that?" I asked.
"I chose not to do what I knew in my heart I shouldn't do...and then I followed God. He helped me."

Later that day, struggles over the hard parts of her wise choices were threatening to engulf her. I am confident God can help her through those as well, but it is unclear what her path forward will be.

The Bible says, "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face." 1 Corinthians 13:12

For now, we walk in faith, and sometimes even the next footfall is obscured by clouds of doubt and trepidation. One day, all will be clear. Until then, my prayer is that God, who can do all things, is our eyes, guiding us when they are dimmed by tears and the fog of uncertainty.
