Clinging to the One Who Loves and Saves Us

Doesn't this baby look like she is praising God for her sweet life? She probably is on some level. She was slated for abortion when our Cities4Life team encountered the mom on the sidewalks of Charlotte's busiest abortion center. She was so eager to meet the mom who chose life instead of abortion that she showed up a month early. She is doing really well, and will go home soon. When I think of all the disasters looming in this world, I look at this picture. I need to raise my hands to praise God like little baby Bella. He who controls the universe is able to control my fears.

I am praying the massive hurricane peters out and veers harmlessly to sea but it doesn't look like that is going to happen. Even our inland city of Charlotte is in some of the hurricane tracker's projections. This is one terrifying storm and I am praying for all the communities impacted by its devastating effects.

Meanwhile, we are having our house painted per the realtor's advice, and our home looks like a hurricane hit it already. This photo above is of our bedroom. We have to sleep in this. I am wondering...how? We decided to just sleep in the guest room last night. I doubt the master bedroom is going to be habitable anytime soon.

And look at the master bathroom:

I guess we will be using the small guest bathroom for a while as well.

However, I am blessed. This is a mess that will be cleaned up with no loss of life. I think. I hope. The funny part is, as we watch the new paint cover walls that have not been repainted in...a couple of decades...we are rethinking the whole moving thing.

Maybe it would be good to remain in this house. Once the disaster passes, the mess is cleaned, and the new world revealed, we will be glad we stayed the course.

And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.  Mark 4:39

Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”  Revelation 21:25-26

He will make all things new, and we will enter His glory if we do not lose heart. Be steadfast through the storm.

Meanwhile, Baby Bella clings to the one who saved her and loves her. We need to follow her example.

Deuteronomy 10:20:
"You shall fear the LORD your God; you shall serve Him and cling to Him, and you shall swear by His name.
