Who We Vote For Matters Less Than What We Do For Jesus

This is me meeting  little 4-pound Bella Promessa. I never held a four-pound baby before. So tiny, and so perfect. Bella was slated to be aborted, but my Cities4Life team that met the mama at the abortion center interceded on her behalf, and God changed the mama's heart before our awestruck eyes. Doesn't she look like she is praising God for the blessing of life? I sure was.

Before meeting Bella, I spent the day gathering supplies for one of two baby showers I will be attending this weekend for two other mamas I have been working with since our Cities4Life team encouraged them to choose life over abortion. (My first double-header baby shower weekend!) Little Bella, recently born, has a 9-month-old sibling. Her mama asked me if I knew of a double stroller she could buy. That very day, we had received a donation of a double stroller.
"No, we don't have one you can buy, but we have one we will give you for free, courtesy of the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth!"

So I crammed the providential donation into my incredibly stuffed car with the help of an awesome Cities4Life volunteer, Gina, and went to meet baby Bella and bring the stroller to her mama. We were a little concerned since the baby shower is Saturday, and we didn't yet have a crib for the new mama. As I was driving with the stroller to meet Bella, I received a text. A crib had just been donated...and get this-- it was not far off my route home after dropping off the stroller.

I drove another half hour to meet the sweet woman donating the really gorgeous high end crib. We had to be very creative in how we stuffed that heavy, magnificent crib in my already full van. It didn't seem possible to add a whole huge crib...but NOTHING is impossible with God. The sweet donor didn't know she would be required to help me somehow unpack and repack a full-to-the-gills van so we could cart the beautiful crib away. With my convalescing broken rib, I was not a lot of help but this beautiful lady showed me again how wonderfully God supplies every need.

In one of my many Facebook discussions yesterday about the agonizing choice for president, one person claimed that there was a Biblical mandate to tackle climate change...but NOT abortion. This stopped me in my tracks. At first I thought perhaps she was joking but she was not.

So instead of arguing, I flooded my post with pictures of little 4-pound Bella. ( I have the mom's blessing and permission since she wants no mother to ever consider what she came so close to doing to the baby she says she could not imagine living without.) I posted several pictures of my van loaded with donations that will provide two years of supplies for the new mama we shower this weekend.

No matter who I vote for, if I am not actively showing the poor, the weak, the vulnerable, and the downtrodden the love of God through my actions, I am not living how God has commanded me to live. My witness is not destroyed by an agonizing choice for who will lead our country, but it IS destroyed by the choice to DO nothing in the face of the despair of abortion and hopelessness in those that would consider it.

There IS climate change that I believe IS Biblically mandated: the climate of death. The climate of devaluing unborn life. The climate of armchair quarterbacking rather than going forth and actually helping the desperate souls in our community with tangible needs supplied, and the love, mercy, grace, and truth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I fear for my country no matter who is elected, but I know that my purpose on Earth doesn't change no matter what scoundrel sits in the White House. My role is to proclaim God's message, and comfort and aid all those I can whom He has made in His image. That's everyone, including little 4-pound Bella from the moment God formed her in the womb.

This is your lucky day!!! Cities4Life, the incredible ministry that proclaims life and hope on the sidewalks of abortion mills is having a training session October 22. Click HERE for information and to register. Or you can just complain about the state of our depraved, immoral country.

Acts 20:35

In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Psalm 139:13-16

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
