Sacred Musings

Beachward bound with two crazy canines! I can't wait. We have never brought these dogs to the beach. It should be an interesting vacation. Neither particularly loves the water, but I am so excited to see what they will think of the ocean waves. Since Lucky can spend hours chasing his tail, I think he might think the ocean is a playmate. Honeybun will likely look at me to assess my reaction, like she always does, and if I am not running from the waves, she won't either. She will probably complacently accept whatever we ask of her in regards to the ocean.

I wonder if they will feel the same sense of wonder and awe as we humans do? Will Honeybun look out over the vast expanse of the sea and declare, "Well, Lucky, this proves there is a God, don't you think?I have heard the humans say all creation declares His existence."
"Honeybun, I don't know if it exactly proves His existence, but it sure is a nice symbol of His vastness and power."
"Good point Lucky. What do you think it is about the ocean that puts that look on Mom's face?"
The dogs gaze at me, and then smile knowingly.
"That is the look of absolute reverence - she is filled with sacred thoughts," confides Lucky, "Proving one certain thing about the ocean."
"What's that?" asks Honeybun.
"It must be full of Milkbones. I'd know that look anywhere!"

Psalm 136:6

To him who spread out the earth above the waters, for his steadfast love endures forever;

Jeremiah 31:35

Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the Lord of hosts is his name:
