I woke up early on our last full day in Hilton Head. That is always the best time to see the dolphin so I hurried off to the sound as the mist was still lifting off of the water. The water was like a mirror, not the slightest breeze or boat to rustle the surface. It was utterly silent. I came upon several dolphins over the two hours I kayaked. For the first hour, I was the only boat out there. The dolphins came near, and I even got a video of one who let me follow him for several minutes. It was not a great video since I had to paddle to direct the bow towards him and my thumb got in the way of the viewfinder. Still, it was the first (sort of) successful video I had gotten of kayaking with the dolphins. I had
actually asked God to bring one to me to pet. However, in His infinite wisdom, He chose not to answer that specific request. Nonetheless, I was satisfied. He may not always bring what I want, but I trust He always brings what I need.
I posted the tranquil photos on Facebook and a friend wrote: "
wow...
it is no wonder you have such peace and such a closeness to the Lord.
You have these moments without all the noise to really listen to him." I love that she noticed what makes me seek out these magnificent, quiet times in nature. It is indeed when I hear God most clearly. I often do not feel peace or close to God when I am in the hubbub and chaos of life. This is a detriment. Honestly, I strive to listen to God even in the midst of clamor, but often fail. It is hard to focus when so many voices are demanding attention. Thus, I creep out in the early mornings when the only ones awake are the dolphins and God.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I will say to the
Lord, “My refuge and my

snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you
with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge;
