Don't Pass God-Given Opportunity By

This is the book that started my writing career...and the dog that started it all as well. The book went on a rare promo sale yesterday. I wrote it 4 years ago. It was #1 for almost two years. It has remained in the top 100 and been my top seller. On the promo sale (which goes on for another two days) it went back up to #1 last night.  I got so many comments from so many strangers...but this was my favorite:
"This book renewed my hope in my dog and gave me the courage to keep on keepin' on. He's still with our family because of you and Honeybun."

Wow.

It is probably every author's dream to change someone's life. I write because I cannot NOT write. I love to write, I need to write the way some people need to breathe. It has always been a part of me for as long as I can remember. To write, and have it be of use to others is a blessing I can hardly believe!

This blog is one of gratitude. Gratitude that God gave me a gift and a desire that seems to make the world a little bit better place. Gratitude for my husband that works a "real job" so I can use this gift. (I hope one day this gift will make enough money that he can retire.) Gratitude that people bother to buy and read my books.

Anyway, if you want the true story of how God saved a dog no one thought could be saved, here is the link. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B005BRF2UU   It is only 99 cents...and it has a very happy ending. How often can you find happy endings for under a dollar?

Here's the kicker. I almost passed by that dying dog on the cover of my book. That single act of God-driven compassion towards the dog changed my life. It was certainly hard, the year that followed, and it didn't seem that God was in the midst of it when that sweet little dog was trying to kill my other dog and growling at children. But in the end, the struggle was more than worth it. I have discovered that this is not rare in the Christian walk. I have not obtained anything worthwhile without struggle and heartache. Neither did Jesus. Friends, don't pass dying dogs by...or any opportunity God has given you ...because it is difficult. It could be His greatest blessing waiting to happen.

If you read my book and love it, please post a review. That helps sales and I read every one. It is a great encouragement to me. This morning, I checked my sales...my book was the 513th bestseller in ALL of Amazon ebooks (several million in their database) and number one in all three of its categories. I could weep for joy! And there are still 2 days of the sale left!
