Today I fly to NY to visit my folks. My sister Amy is joining me, which means I may split open my gut laughing, and you may not hear from me ever again. I am not kidding. She is that funny. I can't wait.
So, this may be the last blog for a few days. Maybe forever, if I die laughing. The good news is that TWO books are in the final edit stage. I am very hopeful at least one, and maybe even both, will be out by the end of the year. A third one is with the editor, and hopefully will be out in the New Year. I discovered that when I sit down and concentrate and work for 8 hours every day diligently...I can accomplish quite a bit.
But now, after working my tail off on three books simultaneously, I am taking a break. I will bask in the joy of my family in NY. When I return, I think I might start Book 3 of the Whippoorwill series. That's the series that a reader told me literally prevented her from committing suicide. I am feeling convicted that I ought to get to work on the next one in the series. God may be giving me a message. No one should ever ignore God's promptings.
If God is telling you to do something today, do it. If it is an act of kindness, do it. If it is asking Jesus to be Lord of your life, do it. If it is calling an estranged family member to show love and concern, do it. If it is sending money to help a mom in a crisis pregnancy, do it. If it is putting money in the Salvation Army Kettle, do it. If it is righting a wrong, do it. Do not wait.
Whatever we do, we are to do heartily, as for the Lord, not for men. I will keep that in mind as I fly off to be with my funny sister. I intend to rest, and laugh heartily, which I don't do nearly enough.
