In Christ A New Creation

THAT IS MY BOOK THAT IS THE #2 Hot New Release! At the time I took that screen shot, it was #13, above the classic Ben Hur. Now sure Ben Hur has been #14 or higher for decades, and I have been #13 for ten minutes, but STILL. I am currently at a higher ranking than C.S Lewis Screwtape Letters. C.S Lewis is ONLY my favorite Christian author.

I am basking in my ten minutes (or less) of fame.

Perhaps you missed the news. Click HERE to buy my new book, Unlikely Redemption. Be forewarned, you probably should read Book 1 in the series first, but the total fee for the two e-books will be less than $6. Where else can you find God, dogs, dolphins, horses, laughter, tears, and an uplifting spiritual message about forgiveness and redemption for $6? Click HERE for Book 1. (By downloading the free kindle app at the book site, you can read the e-books on any smart phone, tablet, computer, or mobile device. You don't need a Kindle.)

Today, the lovely rise of my new book is exciting, but not as exciting as the surprise I have planned for one of the moms I work with who chose life over abortion. "L" moved into her new apartment on Friday, and today, I bring her a hairdresser chair. If you have followed my blog over the past week, you know that this was her impossible request, that one of the wonderful supporters of Cities4Life granted. Cities4Life supporters had already completely filled her empty apartment with all she needs! L was so grateful, but asked if I knew of anyone selling a stylist chair. Uh...no.  But I posted the desire on Facebook, knowing God can do anything. L wants the chair to be able to earn extra money as a stylist in her home-business. She intends to sock that money away for college.

Her path from a frightened, homeless mom seeking abortion has not been an easy one. She chose life for her child, and soon thereafter, chose Jesus to be Lord of her life. Two difficult years followed, with periods of sleeping in her car, and then a shelter,  but she continued to struggle well with desperate circumstances. She is making great choices now and her future looks hopeful. As for all of us, sin is always crouching at the door, but I am so encouraged by how L is fighting this spiritual battle, gaining ground closer and closer to victory in God.

Shortly after posting the impossible desire for a stylist chair on Facebook, Cities4Life supporter, Melanie, texted me with the incredible news that she had found and bought one! Another phenomenal Cities4Life friend, Courtney, retrieved the chair from a city an hour away yesterday. All those hurdles overcome by others, and I am the lucky one who gets the privilege of seeing L's face when I deliver the chair today. God gets the glory, but so many of us get the blessings of helping this woman who is on her way to a better life, and most importantly, a God-honoring one.

I told her to be sure to be home today, as I would be showing up with a surprise.

"Oh my! I am soooooooooooooooo excited," L texted me yesterday. She doesn't yet know what the surprise is, only that she will be getting one.

In my new book, one unlikely character's life is turned around when she comes to faith. A friend reading the manuscript wasn't sure that about-face change was credible. Could someone really be that transformed by God? I look at the real life inspiration for my book, L, and smile. Sometimes fact is even more amazing than fiction.

Keep moving towards God, my friend. In Him alone, we find life.

"Got it!" Text to me from Courtney upon snagging chair

Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
