You are meddling with Christ's business, and neglecting your own when you fret about your lot and circumstances. You have been trying "providing" work and forgetting that it is yours to obey. Be wise and attend to the obeying, and let Christ manage the providing. Charles Spurgeon
After reading these wise words from Charles Spurgeon, I set off for the sidewalks of the abortion center, ready to obey God and proclaim His truth to the abortion-minded women. I am glad I was bolstered by that bit of wisdom. The frigid day, complete with rain to enhance the misery index, was filled with depressing interactions. I remembered Spurgeon's admonition: Don't meddle with Christ's business and fret about circumstances. Be wise and obey what He has called you to do. Leave the results to Him.
Two women that we know of chose life. One that I counseled car-side told me with relief she changed her mind about aborting. She told me she had two dreams the night before. In one, she was pregnant, and was deciding if she should give her baby to one of her friends. In the second, she dreamed that Satan was trying to kill her baby, and she was trying to escape.
That gave me chills. It was a graphic image of the spiritual warfare we face every day on the front-line battleground of the abortion center. It is real, and it is powerful. What a joy that in this sweet woman's case, God won the skirmish.
While I was counseling her, her boyfriend called. She put him on Speaker Phone, and I continued to tell her about our resources we offer moms who choose life.
"We offer baby showers that provide the first two years of everything that baby will need. Would you like that?"
Her mouth fell open but before she could answer I heard the boyfriend shout, "YES!!!! Tell them YES!!!"
She smiled at me and nodded. We'd seen what we were fairly sure was a boyfriend coercing his girlfriend to abort earlier in the day, so hearing the father of this child's affirmation of support for the baby was very gratifying.
I was so chilled that afterwards, it took two cups of tea and a huge heating pad an hour to revive me. I was weary not only from the cold, but from the battle. So many babies died today. But two did not because we were there. It is best to focus on the light in the darkness, and as Spurgeon suggested, leave the fretting to the Lord.

Ephesians 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the
rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this
present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly
places.
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to
the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have
divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every
lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every
thought captive to obey Christ,
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord,
“My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will
deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find
refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the
terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, ...
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
God bless you dear Vicky.
