The Warm Breath of God

Today is my day out on the sidewalks of the local abortion center speaking on behalf of the babies. It is FRIGID. Now, everything is relative. In Antarctica, this would be considered a spring thaw. But for Charlotte, it is bitter cold. I have lived here for 23 years now. My blood is thin. Anything under forty degrees is barely habitable.

Today, it is only 20 degrees. That is WAY too cold to be standing on the sidewalk for several hours, but that is what I will do. Perhaps a mother in despair will be driving in the frozen morning hoping against hope that some warm breath of optimism will tell her she doesn't need to do this terrible thing she is planning. What if she is praying that God will send someone to speak to her? What if she drives into the parking lot, and no one is there to speak on her doomed baby's behalf? What if there is no one to tell her, honey, reach deep into your soul and consider the miracle of life that God has granted you for your joy?

I have layers and layers of warm clothes already laid out on the counter. Ski hat, ski mittens, and my long down coat which is supposed to keep me warm to 15 degrees below zero. Fur-lined boots. (Fake fur as I am an animal lover.)  I have already prayed, as I do every Monday, that God will bring me the conflicted women who are just looking for a sign that they can turn their hearts to God and to their baby. It is the warmth of His breath my team and I will carry this morning to thaw cold hearts.

You too can be a voice for the voiceless in the icy cold. Go to charlotte.cities4life.org for information. Over 425 moms chose life last year at this busy abortion center. Sadly, it doesn't shut down due to the cold.

Job 37:10

By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen fast.
