Can Anything Good Come Out of Nazareth: an Abortion Clinic Miracle

This little baby is super special. ALL babies are made in the image of God and ALL are special, but this one is special to me for a different reason. This baby’s mama, S, came to the abortion center thinking she had to abort her child. The baby girl had no knowledge that her mother was on the verge of destroying her. She was blissfully growing in the womb.

As S drove into the abortion center, our entire Cities4Life team called out to her. She did not slow down as she pulled into the driveway. Her window was rolled down just a little. I was on the edge of the driveway.
“Please don’t do this,” I urged her, “God bless you.” I slipped our informational booklet into the tiny open slit in her window. She took it, and laid it on the seat beside her. She never said a word to me. I assumed she went through with the abortion. I had no idea that while in the clinic, she looked through that booklet, decided she could not abort, and left.

She held on to that booklet and called me months later. My name and number is in every booklet I pass out.  I offered her all the resources we have that can help her. She was grateful. I shared the Gospel and she asked Jesus to be Lord right then and there. And now, she sends me regular texts to thank Cities4Life for being there. She named her unborn baby Nazareth. Out of all the sorrow that led her to the abortion center, the baby was an unexpected blessing arising out of so much bad

She sent me this verse to explain her baby’s name:
John 1:45-46
[45] Philip found Nathanael and told him, “We have found the one Moses wrote about in the Law, and about whom the prophets also wrote---Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” [46] “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” Nathanael asked. “Come and see,” said Philip.

The good that came unexpectedly out of Nazareth was Jesus Himself.

“My baby has already done me so much good,” S told me, “I love her sooooo much.”

She sent me the following texts over the next couple of days:

Ha! Gangster for God. I really kind of like that title. I guess she means that I intend to take anyone I can get my hands on captive for God. While I would not be violent, like a real gangster, I do like the imagery. And I feel a special bond already to little Nazareth. Not only something good came out of Nazareth, but something VERY VERY good...the very very BEST thing of all.

1 Corinthians 1:17

For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
