“If I Can Do It, So Can They.” A Mom Who Chose Life at the Abortion Clinic

“Miss Vicky, this baby is the joy of my life! She is the best baby. I can’t imagine what life would be without her...”

That is what J told me as we sat down to lunch in a restaurant. Then her face grew somber for a moment. I met J a year ago on the sidewalk of the abortion center. She was there to abort the child she now held so joyously in her arms.

“When I think back to where I was a year ago...and where I am now....Oh my! This is my God-baby.”

A year ago, J and her boyfriend and three children pulled over to talk to our Cities4life counselors. The car was their temporary home. It was old and near death. No AC in the 101 degree heat wave. The family was homeless, hopeless, hot...and J was pregnant.

Cities4Life in conjunction with LoveLife Charlotte took this family underwing. It was not easy and at times all of us were ready to give up. But God would not let us. Now this family is in a beautiful apartment, saving enough money that buying a home in two years is within their grasp. They have a great car large enough for their entire family, are in a comprehensive program that provides counseling and training in all areas of life, and have a fantastic  mentor through Love Life Charlotte that has become a dear friend. The couple married, found Jesus, and hope all within the first week of meeting with our Cities4Life counselors. Their entire life is completely transformed.

I sat in their apartment with the lovely group of children who accompanied us later to the special lunch out. My heart overflowed with appreciation for the power of God when His people step out in obedience and faith.

As J smiled at her baby, I told her, “One day, I want you to come to the sidewalk and speak on the microphone and tell your story. I tell it all the time but they don’t believe it. They think I am lying.”

“Oh Miss Vicky, they will know you are not lying when I get through with them! If we could do it, so can they.”

  1. Praise Christ Jesus!
Praying that 'We The People,' as a whole reach out, in proportion to the immense necessity to families 'with child.'
That the proportionately speaking overall 'hush hush,' will end.
When Life wins, Light wins, and The Kingdom of God grows.
