All of a sudden with the beautiful warm sunshine, the trees all budded. The dogwood, the cherry, even the later budding oak are starting to unfurl. I went on a walk yesterday and felt a flood of joy, pure joy, overwhelm me. I love nature in the profuse explosion of renewal and rebirth. I had been so busy and immersed in struggle lately that I forgot Easter was almost here. The flowering trees reminded me. Oh yes! There is always the promise of life. Abundant life!
I have been working very hard on trying to memorize scripture. It doesn't come easily to me. My memory is quite terrible. But after two weeks of working on it, I now can remember the words of Jesus in John 10:10:
The thief comes to steal, and kill, and destroy, but I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full.
Amen! In the struggles, it is good to dwell on the purpose of Jesus:
I have come that you may have life, and have it to the full.

But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for
this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in
which you have seen me and to those in which I will appear to you,
The heart of man plans his way, but the
Lord establishes his steps.
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you
should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that
whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined
according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the
counsel of his will,
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit
within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were
bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
