The Abundant Love of God

As usual, God’s people poured the love of Jesus upon someone in need. I posted yesterday about the abortion worker who quit her job to save her soul. Cities4Life received an outpouring of offers to help. A Christmas gift of a gorgeous rocking chair for the woman, offers of Christmas gifts for her kids, offers of gas and grocery cards, an anonymous donation of money to cover some of her needs, an offer from a large church to meet with her and discuss how they can help her....

I was certainly humbled by the response of loving Christians. I asked her if she felt loved yet. Here is her response: I really do. I’ve never been helped by no one other than my mom so I’m just ecstatic. I never knew love like this.

I told her:  THIS is the love of God.
“Amen,” she said.

It is messy on the frontlines, in the trenches, where Satan and God clash and the war for our souls is waging. Often, the work is discouraging, the rewards are not obvious, and the sacrifice takes a toll. BUT when we see the love of God, the abundant, lavish, overflowing love of God pouring over the prodigal returning to His fold, well...it is worth it. More than worth it.

John 10:10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
