A Free Offer and a Woman Who Chose Life Reclaims God’s Free Offer

First the commercial break, and then the amazing story of a mom who chose life. The commercial break even relates to the pro-life victory for this mom.

I titled my Unlikely Friends Series opener thinking of how impossible it is to be called FRIEND by the creator of the entire universe. How could such a magnificent, holy, powerful being want anything to do with us willfull, rebellious slugs? I am continually amazed by this. But that unlikely friendship completely changed my life.

Today the first book of my four book Unlikely Friends series goes on sale for FREE. Now you have no excuse. Even if you never read it, just download it and drive up my ranking. But if you read it, I bet you will like it. What’s not to like about dogs, horses, dolphins, God, and a little mystery and romance all in one book? Click HERE to purchase for FREE.

Just so you know, it is an ebook, but if you download the FREE kindle app right at the book site, you can read any kindle book on any mobile device. And they are usually a lot cheaper than print books. All my books are in print as well, but I sell far more ebooks than print books since no one wants to kill trees to read a good story.

As in all my books, God is central and core to the message. It is safe for the whole family. Book 4 does have a more mature theme, but told carefully so as to still be flinch-free. In an honest story of redemption, sometimes there are some rough situations that need to be redeemed. This was the case of the woman I alluded to in my opening sentence.

Speaking of redemption, I will be joining our Cities4LIfe  Friday team out on the sidewalks of the abortion center this morning. My prayer, as always, is that many women will choose life and trust their circumstances and souls to God. Even more speaking of redemption,  I had an amazing email yesterday out of the blue from one of the women who chose life on that very sidewalk four years ago. She was one of the very first women I counseled and over the years, Cities4Life has helped her a lot.

She was the first person I led to the Lord as a sidewalk counselor, and she holds a special place in my heart. Sadly, there were a few months where she seemed to be wandering from her faith, and she was not following what we had so strongly encouraged her to do. At times like that, sometimes we have to let the person loose to bear the consequences. As a small ministry with limited funds, we cannot prop up people who end up wasting the resources through ongoing poor choices. She understood, but then for months, I didn’t hear from her. I tried contacting her several times, but she never responded.

And then, this surprising joyful email appeared in my inbox from her yesterday. She said she had hit rock bottom, and realized why. She had left God. Her choices did not reflect her commitment to God. She said she put God back front and center, got a new good job, a car, and a new phone, and is going back to school in January. She asked me to keep sending her Bible verses every day (which I have done for four years) because they really encourage her.

Well. Now THAT is redemption. A far better story than I could write. But God is the best writer, and He has a hope, a plan, and a future for each of us, a riveting plot that in the end will be a miraculous story of infinite love and mind-boggling reconciliation.

Colossians 1:20-22

And through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him,

Romans 10:10

For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

1 John 3:16

By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

Romans 3:24-26

And are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.
