A young lady urged the driver of her car to stop as she pulled into the abortion center driveway. I was on the microphone at the time but called to her, “We can help you. Would you be willing to talk with us?”
Her eyes drooped in sorrow. It was clear this was a woman who knew she did not want to have an abortion. She took our Cities4Life literature from me, and told me she would be right back. They parked and she came to me. She looked like she was two seconds from tears.
“I cannot have this baby,” she said.
“What are the obstacles you face that make you say that?”
“The father has two other kids from two other women. He will not be there for me. I cannot raise this baby alone.”
“You look young. Have you told your parents?”
“No! No one knows! My parents would kill me!”
So instead, she would rather kill her baby.
To make it even more heart wrenching, she had been told she could not have children. This baby was literally a miracle.
“Sweetheart, this might be the last baby you ever conceive. The only child you will ever have. Do you know God?”
“Yes.”
“Would He have you do this?”
“No.”
“Does God make mistakes?”
“No.”
“Is this baby a mistake?”
She whispered, “No.”
We talked a long time. I told her about the vast network of help and resources we could offer. She was NOT alone. Then I prayed with her. After much angst-filled discussion with her friend in the car, they pulled out of the abortion center. I made an appointment for her at the local pregnancy resource center and gave her a blessing bag filled with gifts. I gave her my name and number. They drove away.
Then they came back an hour later. She got out of the car and paced through the parking lot. I begged her to leave. She glanced at me, then went to her car and pulled out the blessing bag. She held it up to me. I thought she meant she would return it, but instead, she continued pacing with the blessing bag slung on her shoulder while she spoke on the phone. I called out to her the entire time, maybe half an hour, till I was hoarse. She went in the abortion center. I got on the microphone and continued pleading for the life of the child. If she aborted, I had little doubt it would destroy not only the baby, but her as well.
She came out of the abortion center almost immediately, blessing bag still on her arm. A new car pulled up and she got in just as I reached her. “I can’t talk right now,” she told me, clutching the literature I’d given her and the blessing bag. I have no idea why she went in the abortion center, but she had not aborted. “Call me,” I said, “We will help you.” She nodded as they drove away.
The baby is safe for now...but that woman needs prayer. Please join me in petitioning God to strengthen this woman to know she is not alone and that she CAN trust God in this. I will be watching for her from the sidewalks today. May God open her heart to the truth and hope that only He can provide.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,
