I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an
open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet
you have kept my word and have not denied my name. (Revelation 3:8)
Man, this verse spoke to me! See, I have been engaged in some pretty hefty battles for the past couple of years. The latest, breast cancer, is probably the most obviously strenuous, but pretty much every trial that could come my way has come over the past two years.
The one thing I can tell you with full assurance is all the trials have pushed me CLOSER to God. I can't imagine enduring any of them without Him. I may die, and I may lose everything I hold dear on earth, but I will not lose Him. My salvation is secure. My eternity is sealed. I don't like what is happening to me, and I would never have chosen it, but it cannot rip my heart from God.
As I have continued pulling paintings down from my attic, cataloguing and pricing for sale, I came across this one at the top of this blog. The title was on a little card: In My Mansions Are Many Rooms. I don't remember painting it at all. It is huge, a watercolor, and detailed in a way that is very uncharacteristic of me. I doubt I could even do this painting anymore! How could I have forgotten even painting it? Or the motivation behind it?
But I love its message. There is room in heaven for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord. Call on Him, loved ones. Please. For me. Call on Him that my room might be right next to yours.
