The Aroma of Christ

Today we celebrate Love. God is Love. God could not be Love unless He had someone to Love. God loves me. And God loves you. Celebrate God’s love today.

Yesterday, I stood on the sidewalks of the abortion center where death is celebrated. Salaries of every worker there which might buy a special dinner on this day of love were earned by the death of little babies.

The irony of couples clasping hands and marching their child together into her death chamber the day before Valentine’s Day broke my heart. I know it breaks God’s heart. God loves those babies as much as He loves me. As much as He loves you.

But God also hates. The Bible says: There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. (Proverbs 6: 16-19)

Five women turned from that place of evil yesterday. The battle for love won over hate. The battle for God had victory for now in their lives. Five little babies have a new chance to celebrate their birthday.

Our Cities4Life team gathered in prayer and thanked God for His love and for the opportunity to proclaim His love and salvation to those who were stumbling to the slaughter.

How can I sanctify this day to the Lord, this day of love? What can I do today to spread the aroma of Christ and the truth of God’s love to those who are being led away to death?

2 Corinthians 2:14

But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.

Ephesians 5:2

And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
