Hard Days

Well, my poor Honeybun is still dizzy and wobbly. My heart is breaking for my little dog. She holds her head to the right, struggles to stay upright, and looks miserable. I will be calling the vet today to see if there is anything else we can do.

Meanwhile, my church class did an awesome thing. Several of the women gathered together bags and bags of supplies for the mamas who choose life at the abortion mill. They will assemble "blessing bags" for me, which I will hand out to any of the mothers who change their minds in response to our pleas on the sidewalks of the abortion mill. As is true of every Monday, I will be there this morning, speaking for those who cannot speak for themselves: the little babies clinging to life in the womb of mothers determined to kill them. I am buoyed by the love of fellow Christians, who care so much for the babies in the wombs of strangers they will never meet, that they have given of their time and resources to provide for their needs.

My heart is breaking over my suffering dog, but the kindness of my Christian friends has made this day a little easier. Bearing others' burdens. Thank you, friends.

Philippians 2:4

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Ephesians 4:32

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

John 13:34-35

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

1 John 3:17-18

But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

Proverbs 21:13

Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.

1 Timothy 5:8

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Galatians 6:9-10

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
