He's Always Been There

This is me at age 12 on Gidget. She's the horse that is the star of my sequel to Joe-The Horse Nobody Loved.  This is the only picture I have of Gidget. I didn't spend much time recording my life back then...just lived it.

I am happy to say that the Gidget story is as effortless to write as the Joe story was. yesterday I wrote 8,000 words. I would have written more but bed time rolled around. As I am researching facts for the training of horses with the problems Gidget possessed, I have been very surprised by the revelations in entirely different areas that I am stumbling upon.

I won't ruin the book by giving any of my epiphanies away, but the gist of it all is that God is continually pointing me to Him. In myriad ways. In all ways. Even more surprisingly, before I even knew He was there, He was pointing me to Him. He wasn't exactly blazing neon arrows in the Heavens, but close. It astonishes me in retrospect that I missed it for so many years. He spoke through the animals around me, the people He planted in my path, the struggles I endured, and of course the beauty and declaration of all creation.

How did I miss Him? I'm sorry for that. But I am grateful that I see Him now. His message surrounds us. He's always been there.

Exodus 33:14

And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.
