One Choice at a Time

I met a seven-year-old fan yesterday. I was walking around the block with a friend when a little boy gave me a thumbs up.
"Keep up the good work with your books," he said.
I stopped. I didn't know him.
"How do you know I write books?" I asked.
"I have one of them."
"Oh my! Which one?"
"About the dog you found, the one that was almost dead."
"Oh! I'm Listening with a Broken Ear. Did you read it?"
"Yes. I liked it."
"Well if you liked that one, you would probably like my new one. It's about a horse that I loved when I was around your age. It's called Joe- The Horse Nobody Loved."
He agreed he would like to read it. I told him if he saw me again to grab his book, and I would autograph it for him.

He made my day. He was only seven years old. My books are for adults, but I have always maintained any age can read them. I keep them clean and wholesome, with inspiring messages. I make them the sorts of books I would want to read, or have my children read. Our culture is so filled with sex, and violence, bad language, shaky morals, selfish messages...I am on a quest to change it one book at a time. How lovely that I reached a seven-year-old.

Today, as every Monday, I head out as a pro-life sidewalk counselor at the busiest abortion mill in Charlotte. I speak for the babies. Jesus valued them, and all children, so we should as well. Please pray that the mamas' hearts would be turned to their babies. May our world be transformed one choice at a time.

Matthew 19:14
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
