Joining the Battle for the Souls of Our City

Good Friday was very good. I went to the abortion center sidewalk where three new volunteers were scheduled to shadow me. I spoke but a few moments with them before abortion-minded women began streaming into the center parking lot. I called out to the women from the sidewalk, and our Cities4Life Director spoke on the microphone. Within minutes, three women in a row wavered in their resolve to abort and asked to go on our RV!!! I was scrambling as I was the only experienced counselor there. With our incredible nurse Sherry, we somehow managed to counsel and ultrasound all three in about three hours. Our spanking new volunteers rose to the occasion and took over with speaking to the women who were waiting for their turn on the mobile ultrasound.

Glorious chaos.

All three women chose life. One chose to place her faith in Jesus right then and there!

One told me she wanted to write a statement over what had changed her heart. It is posted below:

Coming here undecided and listening to Vicky and the volunteer’s story of adoption has broadened my view of the decision to keep my baby. Everyone seems so caring and wants to help. They offered the support I think my heart was desiring. I definitely think God intercepted me from entering the abortion clinic.  4/14/17

Two of the new volunteers had been on the sidewalk only one other time. The third was on the sidewalk for her first time ever. Yet all three were used mightily by God to save the lives of three precious babies.

Later, one of those volunteers told me that she could hardly express the depth of her feelings. She said she felt with incredible clarity that this was a monumental spiritual battleground, where the forces of good and evil were clashing together. Unspeakable grief consumed her upon seeing the numbers of women flooding into the parking lot of the abortion center, and then, incomparable joy when three women chose life.

"It is such a fertile ground for reaching souls for Christ," she told me, "What a privilege to be a part of that."

Yes. Exactly.

The harvest is ripe but the laborers are few. Please, join us. Email me at vkaseorg@cities4life.com to join the battle for the souls of our city. We are particularly in need of people to volunteer on the sidewalks one weekday a week (or even only once per month) from about 9:30-12. We will train and equip you. God will provide the miracles.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ,

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, ...

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
