That's my hands-free umbrella hat. As you can see, it frees my hands for the microphone and our resource literature while I am pleading with moms in the pouring rain to choose life at the abortion center sidewalks. It was a fruitful day. Many women took our Cities4Life literature, many good interactions took place, and two women that we know of chose life.
This pro-abortion supporter (who said he had no moral problem with abortion) asked me how I knew the baby in the womb was human. I asked if it was a frog? Or a dog? Or maybe a cricket? We didn't talk long as his intention appeared to be to distract me from the reason I was there...which was to remind women that the child in their womb was not a frog, a dog, or a cricket, but a baby human made in God's image for a unique and wonderful purpose.
As I was driving home, I got a text from a mom I have worked with for some time now who finally had the courage to flee an abusive situation. Sheryl Chandler of Truth and Mercy Prolife Ministries and I scrambled to arrange an emergency drop off of baby supplies for the mom, and I will meet her to help with getting her to various doctors and social services to apply for all the emergency help she will need. This young woman is terrified, but praise God, Cities4Life and its huge network of resources and supporters is available.
"I don't know what I would have done if you all weren't helping me," she told me.
THIS is the joy and necessity of sidewalk counselors outside the abortion center. This is also the group that City Council and pro-choice groups are trying to silence through no parking ordinances on the street where we and our mobile ultrasound RV park to minister to these desperate women.
This woman needs a car to begin her new life as an independent woman supporting her baby. She is willing and able to work, but she will need help. If anyone has an old but working car that needs a new home where it will change someone's future, please e-mail me at vickychooseslife@yahoo.com This need is urgent.

I posted the need on Facebook last night. We have two cars possibly, both not certain yet. Does anyone have dealer plates we can use to transport the car, if it works out, from about two hours away from Charlotte?
