Made In His Image Before One Day Came to Pass

After writing my blog about the needs of the mother who chose life, Jesus, and marriage, I received many offers of help. Within hours, every material need and more was met. (Except for the housing. We need at least 6 months of housing before they can enter a fabulous program that provides housing. This is a great opportunity for Christian landlords to be the hands and feet of Jesus!)

Along the way, I met a delightful woman, Lisa, who brought me a carload of things for J's family. She also offered to help with baby shower organizing, and securing furniture the women who choose life might need. Others offered maternity clothes, gift cards, and anything else needed to fill in gaps.

To say I am overwhelmed and humbled is an understatement. THIS is how the body of Christ should act. This is the beauty and purpose of the church: to uphold Christ's teaching and message and show the love of the Lord to His people in tangible ways.

Today, I return to the sidewalk of the abortion center. More women who have been deceived by a culture that says death to a human baby is a viable solution to struggles they face will swear at us and tell us we are judgmental hypocrites. Many "pro-choice" escorts will try to convince these women that they are doing the right thing in aborting. Their babies will die and their God-created nurturing souls will mourn.

Some, however, like J and her husband, will choose life. They will see the compelling truth of what Jesus did for them on the cross, and take a humble step of faith into eternity with God. They will feel the love of scores of people moving on their behalf, and will finally understand what a gift human life is and what it means to be made in the image of God and to carry another little image-bearer in their womb.
