Consecrated by God In the Womb

Yesterday, I received an invitation to this little girl's second birthday. This is a child that the mom told me would NOT be here if the Cities4Life sidewalk counselors had not been on the sidewalk when V came to abort.

V told me that one of the things the sidewalk counselors said that inspired her was the "verse that God already knew my baby...even in the womb."

Some people paint those who speak for life outside abortion centers as judgmental and hypocritical, harassing and badgering women, condemning. They call pro-life people "pro-birth" not "pro-child". They claim the life or death of that baby is "none of your business."

V and I have been friends for nearly  three years now. Cities4Life has helped her whenever she has struggled and we discerned or she expressed a need. And now, that once unwanted, unborn child is the light of V's life...and I get to join the celebration of her entry into her third year of life on earth.

To those who support the killing of the unborn, I would urge you to consider this. It is easy to let your world view paint a picture that is filled with distortions. If your world view is propped up with lies that help you to do what you know in your heart is wrong, it is easier to attack those who challenge you than to admit that perhaps the world you created is built on shifting sand. Admitting the sin and sorrow and emptiness inside oneself is hard. Better to sling arrows and wound those exposing the ephemeral and wicked nature of your strongholds, lest you be forced to look full force on the truth.
Admitting painful truth hurts for a season, but in the end is the only thing that leads to life.

Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! 10 They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.  Hebrews 12:9-11

I would urge you to hear the only truth that will ultimately set you free: you are created by a holy God who loves you and loves every soul He has created. Trust Him with your life, with your unborn baby's life, and with all life. He has a plan and a purpose for you, and it was not to have you destroy what He has so graciously created.

This is the verse that V heard that captured her heart to her unborn baby:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you  Jeremiah 1:5

Having nearly recovered from my nasty cold, I will be back on the sidewalks today, hoarsely proclaiming the truth that God knows us and loves us before we are born, from the moment of conception. We could use help. Please email me at vkaseorg@cities4life.com

Maybe in a year, you'll be celebrating a child's birthday who wouldn't have been here if you had not been there on the sidewalk.
