Priscilla and Sarah feel shy and ill-equipped but see God's miracles anyway |
If you have followed my blog series on Cities4Life Sidewalk counselors, then you will see a common theme. The brave warriors for Christ speaking for the unborn do not feel brave. In fact, often they describe themselves as shy, timid, frightened, overwhelmed, and inadequate. Yet they stand on the sidewalks of the Southeast's busiest abortion center, perhaps quaking in their boots...but still standing there.
And God does the rest.
Our job is to show up.
Let Priscilla, speaking for her family, tell you why they come despite their feelings of inadequacy.
We first got involved when my older brother heard a message
on the sanctity of life and wanted to learn more. Our family then got involved
with Cites4Life and God has given our family a burden and passion to stand up for
the unborn. I (Priscilla) am pretty shy and quiet, my mom doesn't like
confrontation and we feel inadequate most of the time but when we are weak, He
is strong and we have been honored to stand with other warriors and see God's
glory shine in a dark place and see lives changed.

Do you feel inadequate to do this work? Good! We all do! Praise God, what He asks us to do is not based on our adequacy but on His. It was God who parted the Red Sea so that Moses could lead his people through, God who closed the lions' mouths so that Daniel was not devoured, and God who saved us from the lives of sin we could not escape.
