What Would Have Been if the Birth Mom Had Aborted Our Child?

Caitlyn is the ever-present sidekick with her dad Richard
Richard is one of our Cities4Life sidewalk volunteers with a dual critical role. He also drives the behemoth RV with the mobile ultrasound unit about an hour each way from Monroe HELP Pregnancy Center. Our brand new state of the art RV is HUGE, but that doesn't seem to intimidate Richard. He knows we count on the mobile ultrasound RV to be parked on the abortion center curb since moms who see their babies' heart beat overwhelmingly choose life. Therefore, Richard makes sure that the RV is there, along with himself and his daughter to encourage women to reconsider the calamity of abortion.

Richard is a consummate encourager. He frequently sends me notes and comments on my blog or facebook posts with words that spur me on to persevere. He is a gentle man with a quiet voice and a devoted daughter who always shows up at his side to help on the sidewalks of the busy abortion center. An unassuming, modest family, they nonetheless speak boldly for God. Why? What motivates them? Richard answers below.

Our first true awareness of what is happening through abortion and specifically at Latrobe came through our oldest daughter as our church did a high school pro-life apologetics session and we participated in a 40 Days for Life prayer vigil in 2014. What was supposed to be an hour turned into 2 or 3 and God's call to be more in involved.

Afterwards we discovered Cities4life and attended 101 training. One truly sees God's heart for people at the mill. Being on the sidewalks made us think about our adoption experiences and what could have been had not God interceded in the lives of our birth moms. God called us as a family to front line ministry to proclaim life through Jesus. We see God work through His people (and love to read and share the daily reports and pray for each team) and His provision (as my daughter Caitlyn and I drive the HELP RV each month) as He pours His love out!

Several of our families who volunteer have adopted children. They know first hand the precious sacrifice of a birth mom choosing to give her child a better life than what she could provide. Please join us in encouraging abortion-minded women that there are so many choices other than killing their child! Click HERE for information.

Ephesians 1:5

He predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,

“Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me,

To redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.
