You Want to Feel Close to God? Here's How.

A Nurse who also volunteers her time as a sidewalk counselor
Jennifer is one of my favorite people on earth. She makes me laugh, and that is a blessing when you minister at such a dark and terrible place as the sidewalks of a busy abortion center. Every car represents a baby doomed to death. It would be easy to fall into despair. But we don't. Part of why we don't is we are surrounded by Cities4Life volunteers that encourage and uplift us.

Jennifer lifts her hands in prayer as other counselors call out to the women. She smiles and pleads with women to come and let her show them they have other options. And then she casts quick-witted asides to her fellow counselors in her sweet southern drawl, and we chuckle. I have never heard anyone say a bad thing about Jennifer. She exudes gentle warmth and kindness.

Why does she come to the sidewalk on top of all the work she does as a registered nurse? She explains below.

What brings me back to the sidewalk every Friday is how close I feel to God while I'm there. Seeing how God works through HIS people is so awesome. I felt the spiritual battle intense in my soul the first time I visited the sidewalks after a Defund Planned Parenthood  Rally. While at the rally, I just kept feeling God saying to my heart to go to the sidewalk at Latrobe. The friend I was there with had to leave the rally early, and so I left early too, and headed straight over to the sidewalk before everyone else came. I knew that day God was calling me to be there, and fill up on HIS spirit so I could pour out my heart to all the hurting Moms, and therefore save these precious babies lives. I absolutely love teaching pregnancy classes at HELP Pregnancy Center in Monroe! Recently I've volunteered a few times in the prenatal clinic at HELP also. I'm just so blessed to be a part of these ministries!

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
